12 Days Tanzania Safari + Zanzibar

Day 1: Arrival – Arusha

  • Meet & greet at JRO/ARK; transfer to hotel. Safari briefing and rest.
  • Overnight: Arusha.

    • Day 2: Arusha → Tarangire National Park
  • 2–3 hr drive via Maasai steppe; full-day game drive among baobabs & elephants.
  • Overnight: Tarangire area or Karatu.
    • Day 3: Tarangire (AM) → Karatu

  • Morning game drive (or optional nature walk, extra).
  • Midday transfer to Karatu; relax at lodge.

    • Day 5: Full Day – Central Serengeti

  • Dawn & afternoon game drives; big cats near rivers/kopjes.

  • Jun–Oct: Move North (Kogatende/Lamai) for possible Mara River crossings.
  • Dec–Mar: Shift South (Ndutu) for calving season.

  • Overnight: Area per season.

    • Day 7: Full Day – Serengeti (same area)

  • Flexible routing to key migration corridors; optional hot-air balloon (extra).
  • Overnight: Serengeti (same area).

    • Day 8: Serengeti (AM) → Ngorongoro / Karatu

  • Sunrise game drive; optional stop at Olduvai Gorge.
  • Continue to crater rim or Karatu by evening.
  • Overnight: Ngorongoro rim or Karatu.

    • Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha ✈ Zanzibar

  • Early descent; 5–6 hrs on the crater floor (chance of black rhino, lions, hippos).
  • Afternoon drive to Arusha; evening flight to Zanzibar; beach transfer.
  • Overnight: Zanzibar (beach).

    • Day 10: Zanzibar – Beach & Spice Island

  • Leisure at the beach or optional tours: Spice Farm, Stone Town, Prison Island, snorkeling at Mnemba (extra).
